Just realized that I never published this video, finished the cover around October. Here's a new 8-bit cover!

Finally I feel confident enough in this to put it out there. I started work on this around 3 years ago, and every once in a while I'd come back to it and chip away. I was having trouble fitting the vocals in, since I'm using Famitracker, which has a lot of the original limitations of the NES hardware, including a very small number of vocal tracks. I was using the MMC5 expansion at first, because it used only the default NES 2A03 instruments, but I switched to VRC6 because it gave me an extra channel to work with, which I needed in order to fit the vocals in there. The VRC6 instruments also sound kinda cool too, I must admit, though I tried to keep them as consistent with the 2A03 instruments as possible, since 1 note of every chord had to played with 2A03 while the other 2 were played with VRC6.

I also decided I'd try to play with the sound of the vocals, try to make them have the same quality, or just some quality in general. I at least wanted there to be something going on, to make the vocals more interesting to listen to than just simple bleeps and bloops.

If you read this far, thanks! /) I hope you enjoyed!
